Reviews
Fabulous hike close to the city. Easy to do a quick loop and well worth it. Beautiful views on one side of the loop
Beautiful location in Kananaskis and a good hike up a small mountain, not too strenuous even for a desk jockey like me. I've only ever done the lower loop but there's far more trails for the fitter of us.
Our family loves this loop! We prefer to go left at the fork up the stairs and do the big hill and view first before making your way gradually downhill through the forest and back to the parking lot. It takes a couple of hours with kids.
The Fullerton loop is a nice fairly short hike with some nice site seeing. Walkiig it clock wise is a steeper climb to start but an easier walk back down towards the parking. I would call it easy for the average hiker
It's a nice and cool hiking trail, although some paths are steep and sharp. It's safe and you'll surely meet lots of people along the hike.
I love this loop. It has decent elevation, nice views, and I enjoy trying to beat my best time when I go! It’s not too far of a drive from Calgary which is nice, and I HIGHLY recommend wearing a bell during bear season (bonus points for bear spray).
You do lose cellphone service on this trail, so if you go alone, don’t forget to let someone know where you are for safety purposes! I generally do this trail on my own and outside of one moment where I got in my own head because the trail was too quiet, it’s always been a blast.
Photos are from the fall!
I've done this trail at least 3 times. Unless you like a steep uphill climb, at the beginning of the loop, go to the right & not to the left up the stairs. This time we went the view wasn't as good due to the smoke.
This is a great beginner, or family all year round hike. You're barely gonna experience the trail to yourself unless you're there before 9:30am.
Easiest way is clockwise even if the ridge is steep, it's short lived.
Counterclockwise is better for conditioning as you go uphill the whole way up to the ridge from the back. You won't see as many people this way either on early hours.
Great trail to try as solo hike.
